The runway is now paved and needs several items completed prior to reopening. The date of 9 September is our best guess and will be updated if the date changes.
The Runway 15 Extension opening is scheduled for Friday, 16 September at 5:00 PM. At that time the runway will be commissioned open to its full 6,000' length. The NW taxiway and connector will still be under construction and will likely be open the last week of October.
Proceeds go to the non-profit group Helping Children Worldwide and Mercy Hospital. During the race itself, which will be from 6-8:00pm, the runway will be closed to all aircraft.
For flights, go to the Stafford Airport Terminal building. The EAA will be using the Conference Room on the left as you enter the building. for more information visit https://chapters.eaa.org/eaa1099/young-eagles
