Registration is now open for the inaugural Career GPS: Guiding Pathways to Success Expo hosted by Stafford County Public Schools.
Event Details:
Date: Thursday, April 16, 2026 (April 22 is the rain date)
Event Time: 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m
Set Up: 8:30 a.m.
Location: Stafford Regional Airport (95 Aviation Way).
Audience: Approximately 2,500 sixth grade students and accompanying staff and parent chaperones.
As a leader in your industry, your participation can inspire and educate students about the skills, opportunities, and career pathways in your field. Whether through interactive exhibits, hands-on demonstrations, or engaging conversations, your involvement will play a critical role in shaping students’ early career awareness and exploration.
How You Can Participate:
- Host an exhibit to showcase your industry and the skills needed to succeed.
- Provide a hands-on activity or demonstration to engage students in learning about your field.
- Share age-appropriate insights about the educational and career pathways in your industry.
- Sponsor event swag by providing drawstring bags and/or pens for all 2,500 student participants or in increments of 300.
- Sponsorships available starting at $500. See attached flyer.
Keep in Mind:
- This is an outdoor event with a rain date. Please ensure you are available on both dates in case of inclement weather.
- Any food in your display MUST be nut free and allergen information should be clearly visible.
- This event is a critical first step in the middle school phase of our career exploration initiative: EmpowerED Exploration.
Register to Host an Exhibitor Booth TODAY!: A standard booth is roughly 10′ x 10′ with a 6’ table and 2 chairs. Your table may be on asphalt or grass. Participation is free, but YOU MUST REGISTER TO RESERVE YOUR SPACE. Together, we can inspire students’ curiosity and empower their decisions so they are prepared to excel as they explore meaningful career pathways.
The Northeast Bonanza Group (NEBG), a regional group affiliated with he American Bonanza Society will hold a fly-in weekend May 29-31 at the Stafford Regional Airport. The weekend will feature speakers from across the aviation spectrum.
This car show is tentatively scheduled to be held at the airport. The car show sponsor is Stangs and Fangs. Admission will be free to the public. Proceeds from the show will go to Cooking for Autism.
This is a 5K airport run that is sponsored by United Methodist Church and the Stafford County Department of Economic Development 5-Event race series. See the United Methodist Church web site for details about the event.
Visit event websiteEach year the Stafford County R-Board offers residents the opportunity to drop off household hazardous waste material at no cost to the residents of Stafford County and the City of Fredericksburg. The event provides the opportunity for hazardous material to be properly disposed of and/or recycled, treated, and stabilized. Collections will open at 9:00 am and close at 3:00 pm. Please note that this is 1 hour earlier than in previous years.
This is a “side walk” coloring event with local artists, bands and vendors. The show is a two day event and organized by the Stafford County Museum and Cultural Center. Details will be published later.
The ‘Stangs and Fangs Car Club is conducting a Car Show at the airport on Saturday, October 18. The show serves as a collection point for Toys for Tots, and cash proceeds from the show will be donated to Cooking Autism, a 501(c)3 organization. The show is expected to start at 9:00am and conclude at 3:00pm. The show is free to members of the public.
Recurring events
Scout’s Aviation Exploring Post meetings are held monthly, usually the third Thursday of the month at the Stafford Regional Airport Conference Room. Meetings start at 6:30 pm and are scheduled to last an hour. Potential activities for the year include visiting an Air Traffic Control facility, STEM flights (flying with an instructor in a C-172 aircraft) and other events. Scheduled dates for 2026 have not been published yet.
Guests and potential members are welcome to attend. Park in the terminal building parking lot at 95 Aviation Way. Enter through the front door. The conference room is to the left.
Expected meeting dates for 2026: January 26, February 26, March 26, April 23, May 28, June 25, July 23, August 27, September 24, October 22, December 17 (Holiday Party)
This is a monthly meeting of EAA Chapter 1099. Enter through the south side of the terminal (to the left when facing the terminal building). The Conference Room is on the left as you enter the building. Meetings are traditionally held on the first Tuesday of each month.
Meeting dates for 2026 are: February 3, March 3, April 7, May 5, June 2, July 7, August 4, September 1, October 6, and November 10.

Flights are conducted starting at 9:00 and usually ending by 1:00 pm at the Stafford Regional Airport. The flights are provided at no cost. Planned dates for flights at Stafford Regional Airport are as follows:
